Invincible season 3 teaser promises no mid-season break this time

Prime Video heard you, Invincible fans — the upcoming third season will not have a mid-season break, unlike last time.

The announcement came in a cheeky teaser released Thursday by Prime Video, where Mark (Steven Yeun) and Cecil (Walton Goggins) discuss the dramatic events that closed out season 2 (namely, Mark getting his ass kicked by a new Viltrumite in town) and Mark’s preparation (or is it Yeun’s?) for their next chapter defending Earth.

Amazon also released a promotional image with Mark’s new blue suit:

After the first season of Invincible ended in April 2021, fans had to wait more than two years before a return of the show — first with a great special about Atom Eve in July 2023, and then with four episodes from the second season that November. But the season’s momentum was halted, splitting the season into two four-episode chunks that aired in different years — the last four episodes ran in March and April 2024.

Polygon spoke Robert Kirkman, creator of both the comic and the show, about the second season — he acknowledged fans “didn’t like” the mid-season split, but said it was caused by a “production necessity.” It seems that has all been ironed out, and the entirety of Invincible’s season 3 will air without a lengthy interruption. Although Mark sounds like he could use a break after the beating he got last season.

The third season of Invincible will premiere on Prime Video on Feb. 6, 2025.
