Dragon Age: The Veilguard celebrates N7 Day with Mass Effect cosmetics

Without a new Mass Effect since 2017’s Andromeda, responsibility for N7 Day — the fake holiday celebrated by developer BioWare every November 7, in reference to the special forces rank held by several of the franchise’s protagonists — falls to the studio’s fantasy series by way of the latest installment, Dragon Age: The Veilguard (via Kotaku).

After applying today’s patch, Veilguard players can equip their Rook with setting-appropriate cosmetics reminiscent of Commander Shepard’s iconic look from the original Mass Effect trilogy. Two armor customizations and a helmet will be waiting in a chest near the Lighthouse base’s Workshop, provided that the Lace Harding mission “The Singing Blade” has been completed.

“November 7 has arrived once again, and as always, we’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate all things Mass Effect!” a letter posted to the Mass Effect website reads. “This year is a little different, as we just launched Dragon Age: The Veilguard as a studio; so we’re purposefully keeping things lighter as we celebrate the launch of the game. Although we are a little quieter this year, we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”

No Man’s Sky and Destiny 2 players can also expect the return of previous cross-promotional Mass Effect content like the Normandy expedition and various cosmetics, respectively.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched on October 31 to mostly positive reviews. Writing for Polygon, Todd Harper praised the game’s “friend group simulator” vibes while noting the combat was more hit or miss (Polygon’s Susana Polo loves that combat, so your mileage may vary).
